Hike: 9 days of food

Due to the remoteness of Kosciuszko National Park and the need to maintain our caloric intake before our major rowing event, we opted to dehydrate our own meals. This method is a lot cheaper, and all nutrients are preserved during dehydration. A single meal of pasta Bolognese, which weighs about 350 grams when wet, reduces to just over 100 grams when dehydrated. We simply add water, and voilà, bon appétit. Beverley will be dropping the same amount of food to us when half way through the national park; 9 days of food weights 5kg per person and that is all we can carry. Here is an example of what we will be consuming in one day: Breakfast: Porridge with tea
Morning Tea: Muesli Bar and dehydrated mango
Lunch: Mi Goreng
Afternoon Tea: Dehydrated Beef Jerky
Dinner: Pasta Bolonese, Tea and chocolate bar
Here lined up 9 days worth of meals for myself and Cy, each day averages approx. 2400kcal which is not a lot given the distance we will hike.
